Job summary

Anglian Water Services invites applications for a Lead Civil Engineer within the Strategic Pipeline Alliance. The role is based in Peterborough with flexible/hybrid working from the office and home, supporting delivery of detailed civil designs for water infrastructure.

You will lead the design elements of pipelines, pump stations and associated Civil works, mentor graduates and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and external partners to ensure design excellence and project success.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• Chartered status preferred.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Experience in the Water Industry preferred.
• Ability to propose innovative design solutions to improve efficiency.
• Strong technical understanding of civil non-infrastructure design.
• Proficient with MS Office and engineering design software.
• Ability to interpret ground investigation reports.

Responsibilities

• Understand HSE issues and deliver mitigations to ensure safety and minimize environmental impacts.
• Take ownership to deliver design and associated activities in your section of the SPA programme of works.
• Work closely with the Client to understand requirements and challenge asset standards.
• Understand the importance of design interactions with delivery, procurement and commercial teams.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project requirements are met.
• Interface with GI, Utilities and environmental teams.
• Mentor graduate engineers in developing technical knowledge and understanding.
