Job summary

Ridge & Partners LLP in Bristol is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead civil engineering delivery within a multi-disciplinary team for high-value infrastructure and development schemes. You will work closely with clients and the design team, manage resources, and drive projects from concept to completion, including highways and drainage work, with BIM-enabled design practices.

Ideal candidates have chartered status or are on track to become chartered, with strong leadership and client-facing

Qualifications

• Experience leading projects in a multi-disciplinary organisation.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or progressing towards chartered status preferred.
• Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MI.C.E.) or equivalent.
• Proficient with AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience highly desirable.
• Infodrainage experience is advantageous.
• Post-graduation design experience with ability to discuss at interview.
• Experience in drainage (foul and surface) and minor roadway design.
• Understanding of Section 38, 278 and Water industry Act agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of civil engineering elements and liaise with clients and internal design teams.
• Manage resources to ensure timely delivery of work.
• Interface with Architects, Building Services engineers, PMs and cost managers on multi-discipline projects.
• Undertake project administration and financial management.
• Identify opportunities for work and prepare tender proposals.
• Represent Ridge with clients, stakeholders and approving bodies.
• Coordinate highways and drainage designs for large developments.
• Provide pre-planning advice, including FRA and drainage strategies.
• Conduct site visits for technical assessment and problem solving.
