Job summary

NUVIA UK is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead civil engineering inputs for the Associated Development facilities in a hybrid role based in Warrington. You will coordinate with the project client technical team and interface with regulators, environmental and planning bodies to ensure design integrity and compliance.

The role requires 10+ years in civil engineering on large infrastructure projects and a strong grasp of regulatory and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of civil engineering experience on large infrastructure projects, ideally regulated sectors.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical, structural, environmental, drainage and site development disciplines.
• Experience supporting early site assessment, planning, consenting and regulatory processes.
• Proven ability to manage technical interfaces and maintain design intent across complex scopes.
• Excellent communication and coordination with regulators, authorities, consultants and contractors.
• Experience contributing to design assurance, safety compliance and quality processes on major programmes.
• Proficiency with civil design tools and BIM/digital modelling environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop civil engineering requirements for AD facilities.
• Lead early site assessment activities including geotechnical and environmental considerations.
• Oversee civil layouts and infrastructure concepts for AD facilities.
• Maintain ownership of civil inputs to AD scope and design changes.
• Provide technical oversight of deliverables and ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with planning, regulatory and consenting teams for submissions.
• Engage with authorities and stakeholders to confirm interfaces and constraints.
• Contribute to risk assessments and schedule/cost inputs for civil works.
• Support development of digital models (BIM) and document engineering decisions.
• Provide expert advice to resolve technical issues and integrate with main site programme.
