Job summary

Turner Lovell Limited is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end civil design of electricity substations across the UK. You will manage drawings, calculations, and specifications, coordinating with electrical and structural teams while guiding junior engineers.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in power/energy infrastructure, a Civil Engineering degree, and familiarity with AutoCAD; Civil 3D, Revit, or Navisworks is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of industry experience in power transmission/substations or related infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycles from feasibility through handover.
• Familiar with AutoCAD; Civil 3D/Revit/Navisworks advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end civil design of electricity substations across the UK.
• Attend site visits, client meetings, and design reviews to monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders to meet scope, time and budget.
• Manage design risks and develop practical, buildable engineering solutions.
• Oversee design reviews and ensure integration with electrical and structural disciplines.
• Guide and support junior team members.
