Job summary

Turner Lovell Limited is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end civil design of electricity substations across the UK, up to 400kV, coordinating drawings, calculations and specifications.

You will hold a Civil Engineering degree and have 3+ years in power transmission or substations, with AutoCAD and MS Office; experience in Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks is advantageous. Mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with internal and external teams are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• At least 3 years in power transmission, substations or related infra
• Strong understanding of project lifecycles from feasibility through handover
• Familiar with AutoCAD and MS Office; Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks advantageous

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end civil design of electricity substations (up to 400kV) across the UK
• Attend site visits, client meetings, and design reviews to monitor progress and resolve issues
• Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders to meet technical, safety, and quality requirements within time and budget
• Manage design risks and develop buildable engineering solutions throughout project development and delivery
• Oversee design reviews and ensure integration with electrical and structural disciplines
• Guide and support junior team members
