Job summary

Platform Property Care in Worcestershire is hiring a Lead Engineer - Carpentry to deliver high‑quality repairs in customers’ homes and communal areas. You’ll lead on carpentry tasks, manage jobs from inspection to completion, coach colleagues, and promote best practice across the team.

The role is mobile, requires a full UK driving licence and a DBS check, and offers a competitive salary (£41,800), 25 days’ annual leave, a pension scheme, and a company van with a fuel card.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds Level 2, or equivalent qualification in Carpentry.
• Significant experience working as a Carpenter within the building trade.
• Experience working within occupied domestic properties.
• DBS check is required.
• Full valid driving licence is essential as this is a mobile role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of carpentry repairs and maintenance work within customers' homes and communal areas.
• Manage jobs from inspection through to completion, ensuring excellent customer service throughout.
• Support colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and skills development.
• Assess and sign off colleagues against our multi-skill framework and support apprentices through their End Point Assessments (EPA).
• Promote consistent trade standards and best practice across Platform Property Care.
• Work alongside Learning & Development teams to support trade training and upskilling initiatives.
• Conduct trade audits, reviews, and quality assessments to ensure compliance and high standards.
• Act as a technical expert and escalation point for trade-related queries.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help shape future ways of working.
