Job summary

CIBSE Journal is seeking a Building Services Manager to lead M&E aspects across a dispersed estate in Exeter. You will drive planned maintenance, renewals and improvement works while ensuring statutory compliance and safe operation of building services.

You will supervise consultants and contractors, develop annual maintenance programmes and manage budgets across sites, with a focus on energy efficiency and whole-life asset costs.

Qualifications

• Experience managing statutory compliance and maintenance across multiple sites.
• Experience delivering M&E projects with budget control.
• Ability to translate surveys into practical programmes of work.
• Knowledge of building services regulations and CDM requirements.
• Commercial awareness including procurement and cost planning.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for mechanical, electrical and building services across the estate.
• Manage statutory compliance alongside planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
• Undertake condition surveys and identify required works and priorities.
• Develop annual programmes of building services maintenance and improvement works.
• Manage M&E projects from scope through procurement to delivery and completion.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, cost estimates and work instructions.
• Oversee external consultants, contractors and maintenance providers.
