Job summary

Acorn Engineering Limited is seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer to take ownership of technical delivery, lead a team of engineers, and shape engineering standards across the business. The role covers North London, Hertfordshire and Essex with a strong focus on safety, quality, and responsive service.

You will support the Contracts Manager, drive effective resource planning, and mentor engineers to maintain high performance and compliance across multi-site facilities.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Ability to organise workloads, lead a team, and manage day-to-day priorities.
• Excellent communication with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• IT literacy and a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of engineers to deliver reactive and planned maintenance across sites.
• Coordinate daily workloads with scheduling, achieving safety, quality and time KPIs.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance.
• Ensure works comply with RAMS, statutory regulations and safe systems of work.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, certifications and logbooks, and perform self-audits.
