Providing leadership, management, and development of a defined team ensuring operational commitments are met and exceeded. The role will require close liaison with employees, clients, and internal senior managers. The operation should be proactive and driven to achieve total customer satisfaction, whilst ensuring operational and fiscal plans are at least achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the H & S of the sites and engineers.
- Onsite HV and LV Authorized Person when qualified and on Shift.
- Proactively check the operation of the Permit to Work system in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements, especially regarding subcontractors' adherence to RAMS.
- Proactively check the operation of the LOTO system in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
- Ensure that subcontractors perform to meet the requirements of the contract. Administer subcontractor work approvals and safe operation during repair or service on site.
- Undertake annual appraisals of shift technicians once you have completed the BGIS Appraisal and Development training course.
- Ensure awareness and compliance with the contractual KPIs/SLA’s.
- Ensure the Computer Based Maintenance system, such as Maximo and Concept, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
- Work closely with the Area Contract Manager to ensure that service levels are maintained at a high standard.
- Responsible for statutory and code compliance of sites. Ensure engineers are fully equipped to carry out daily tasks.
- Plan PPM schedules for sites to ensure an even workload in conjunction with the Area Contract Manager.
- Ensure PPM is carried out in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Responsible for the return of PPM and work-related documentation. Manage Day Engineers and Shift team members.
- Ensure all sites have accurate asset registers and are labeled accordingly.
- Responsible for the procurement of materials and services efficiently. Proactively source additional works and raise quotations.
- Ensure all callouts are attended to, in conjunction with the helpdesk.
- Promote H & S culture across the entire team.
- Assist engineers carrying out PPM where required. Ensure regular communication with the engineering team.
- Ensure weekly tasks are completed and assist site managers in producing reports on delivery.
- Ensure uniforms are worn and in good condition. Ensure all third-party contract works are completed.
- Attend all statutory works to understand how they are conducted and provide feedback.
- Escalate work that is not approved by FM and could impact the business.
- Act as the first point of contact for all in-hour shift issues and concerns.
- Act as the first point of contact on the escalation path for all mechanical incidents.
- Responsible for the production and distribution of a weekly report in conjunction with the Area Contract Manager.
- Carry out any reasonable management requests.
