Job summary

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Advanced Biomedical Scientist–Cellular Pathology within the Northern Care Alliance. You will head the Immunohistochemistry (IHC) section, mentoring Biomedical Scientists and Associate Practitioners, developing new protocols and troubleshooting antibodies.

The role focuses on maintaining high quality standards, participating in audits and quality improvements, and ensuring safety and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an IHC section in a clinical lab.
• Strong background in Immunohistochemistry and quality systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 15189:2022 standards and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Biomedical Scientists and Associate Practitioners in IHC processes.
• Troubleshoot IHC testing and validate antibodies.
• Develop and implement new IHC techniques and technologies.
• Engage in quality management activities, audits, and data analysis.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and maintain equipment.
• Participate in ISO 15189:2022 compliance and service improvements.
