Job summary

The successful candidate will lead the Clinical Biochemistry service across two main sites, reporting to the Operational Lead for Clinical Biochemistry. This 0.8 wte role (30 hours per week) requires HCPC registration and an MSc or Level 7 qualification, with significant experience in Clinical Biochemistry and laboratory leadership.

They will oversee a Biomedical Scientist and Associate Practitioner team, ensure 24/7 service delivery, drive quality governance, and participate in broader service

Qualifications

• Must be HCPC registered and educated to master’s level or equivalent.
• Experience leading large Biomedical Scientist teams and quality improvement.
• Knowledge of laboratory automation and managing 24/7 service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Clinical Biochemistry service across two sites.
• Lead on quality, people governance and training activities.
• Coordinate day-to-day technical activities of the laboratory.
• Contribute to service development within the NPP network.
