Job summary

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Biochemistry unit. The post requires Band 6 experience or progress toward an IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Biochemistry and involves a 24/7 rota across multiple sites.

You will work within a large hub laboratory serving the Leeds Teaching Hospitals and wider community, with opportunities for MDT involvement, R&D, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered HCPC Biomedical Scientist and IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Biochemistry.
• Experience as Band 6 in Biochemistry or working towards Specialist Portfolio.
• Willingness to work across 24/7 shift rota and across sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of specialist clinical technical investigations.
• Work as part of a team and on-call when required.
• Communicate highly complex information to colleagues and other organisations.
• Contribute to R&D and lead projects under supervision when appropriate.
• Assist in day-to-day running of the laboratory and QC/EQA activities.
• Support ISO15189 accreditation and CPD.
