Fletchers Solicitors is expanding its AI initiative and seeks a lead backend engineer to own the backend architecture, services and infrastructure for production AI apps. You will mentor engineers, set standards, and drive rapid delivery while collaborating with internal users and external clients.

The role is hybrid with regular in-person collaboration in major UK hubs; you will help shape the next phase of AI tooling within a fast-growing consumer law firm.

Qualifications

• Strong degree qualification in a STEM subject from a top-tier university.
• Experience in software development with a focus on backend systems.
• Track record of owning backend production systems and defining architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own backend systems, services and infrastructure for AI tools.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers; grow team from 10 to 20+.
• Lead on architecture decisions and ensure site reliability and DR for production systems.
• Collaborate with internal users and external customers to ideate solutions and drive adoption.
