Job summary

Zego is hiring a senior backend engineer to lead multiple engineers and own Python microservices that power our insurance platform. You will design, build and own secure, observable systems built for scale, while shaping backend architecture across teams.

• Strong experience in distributed systems and performance tuning
• Ability to lead by example through mentoring and clear communication
• Proactive in engaging non-engineering partners and stakeholders
• Familiarity with AI-first mindset and building scalable backends

Responsibilities

• Lead several engineers within a team or workstream
• Design, build and own Python microservices powering the platform
• Drive architectural discussions across teams
• Deliver large technical initiatives end to end
• Raise the bar on testing, reliability and clean code
• Coach and mentor engineers to level up the team
• Improve CI/CD and incident response processes
