Aviva is seeking a Principle Cloud Engineer to join its Cloud Platform Engineering team. This hands-on leadership role focuses on shaping architecture, tooling, and best practices across AWS, IaC, and secure-by-default design to scale a large cloud platform used by millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive AWS cloud engineering experience.
• Proficient in IaC with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience guiding engineers and leading complex deliveries.
• Strong security mindset and secure-by-default principles.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex AWS-based projects from start to finish.
• Define architecture, tooling, and best practices for the cloud platform.
• Mentor engineers and ensure secure-by-default delivery.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders and internal customer teams to turn ideas into resilient systems.
• Promote cloud-native services and Infrastructure as Code as standard practice.
