Job summary

Airbus Helicopters at the Oxford site seeks a Chief Avionic Design Engineer to lead the avionics and electrical design team from concept through to manufacture. You will own technical quality, guide a small team, and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and Certification requirements.

You will act as design signatory and Compliance Verification Engineer, mentor engineers, and engage with stakeholders to resolve design issues while maintaining project timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Degree in Avionic/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent HNC/HND with relevant experience.
• Experience in avionic/electrical systems design and concept detailing.
• Understanding of certification and airworthiness processes.
• Ability to plan design activities across multiple work packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead avionics and electrical design from concept to design, integration and test.
• Act as design signatory status and Compliance Verification Engineer.
• Liaise with stakeholders to resolve design issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and develop junior design engineers and oversee skill growth.
• Provide technical leadership to meet project timelines and quotes.
