Job summary

Airbus Helicopters UK seeks a Chief Avionic Design Engineer at the Oxford site to lead avionics/electrical design from concept through manufacture. You will own technical quality, guide a small team and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and certification requirements.

The role includes design signatory responsibilities, liaison with stakeholders, development of procedures, and mentoring of engineers while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of safety analysis and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level in Avionic/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
• Experience with avionic/electrical systems design and certification processes
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards (CAA Part 21, CS27/CS29)
• Proven experience supervising a design team and delivering design signatory responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Lead avionics and electrical design from concept to test in line with Airbus procedures
• Own technical quality and delivery against project timelines and quotes
• Coach and develop junior design engineers and assist in recruitment when needed
• Act as design signatory and Compliance Verification Engineer
• Maintain regulatory compliance and ensure design reviews are completed
