Job summary

Kier Design seeks an Associate Engineer to lead delivery of complex construction engineering services within our 100-strong design consultancy and construction-related technical services team.

UK-wide portfolio with access to Kier's £11bn+ project pipeline; agile working with 1–2 days remote per week and flexible hours. Chartered membership and strong leadership are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Chartered member of a professional institution (e.g. CEng MICE) with significant relevant experience.
• Experience leading complex construction engineering services and temporary works design.
• Skilled in design management and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
• Confident in providing technical assessment and review of third-party designs.

Responsibilities

• Leading temporary works design and checking, integrated with permanent works as applicable.
• Providing tender and bid support including feasibility studies and outline design schemes.
• Managing the delivery of alternative solutions and value engineering opportunities.
• Overseeing project teams, ensuring technical compliance and quality of design deliverables.
• Building positive relationships with clients and design teams, representing Kier at project meetings.
