Job summary

Medway Council is recruiting an Assistant Team Manager for the 16+ Care Leavers Service. You will lead a team of Social Workers and Personal Advisers, ensuring high-quality, relationship-based practice and robust assessments for care leavers aged 16–25.

You will work with the Team Manager, promote positive outcomes, and contribute to multi-agency planning. Hybrid working is available, with a competitive salary and client-focused development opportunities.

Qualifications

• recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• ASYE completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and support to Social Workers and Personal Advisers.
• Support the management of a busy 16+ and Care Leavers Service.
• Promote high-quality, relationship-based practice with young people aged 16-25.
• Oversee assessments, pathway plans and interventions to ensure robust outcomes.
• Chair professional meetings and contribute to multi-agency planning.
• Assist in performance, quality assurance and service development.
• Ensure voices of young people are central to planning and decisions.
• Deputise for the Team Manager when required.
