Job summary

Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in Edinburgh is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to own and build the FCA's AI Platform. You will drive architecture, memory and retrieval services, and agent orchestration, ensuring secure, self-service capabilities with clear APIs and documentation.

You will lead the engineering standards, CI/CD, and governance for AI services while collaborating with AI Product Delivery and other stakeholders to deliver scalable platform capabilities and robust observability.

Qualifications

• Extensive backend engineering experience in production services and microservices.
• Experience designing AI platform components and trade-offs.
• Strong AWS deployment, monitoring, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI Platform build and define architecture on AWS.
• Deliver a model gateway with governed access to AWS Bedrock and models.
• Develop retrieval/memory services and agent runtime with governance.
