Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the AI/ML Technology group in the United Kingdom. You will be a hands-on engineer building production software with a focus on AI-enabled capabilities, spanning the full SDLC from requirements to production support.

You will develop Python backend services, APIs, and micro-services, implement LLM-based workflows, and deliver into a multi-cloud environment using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Strong hands-on backend experience in Python/Java/JavaScript.
• Strong database and SQL proficiency for API-backed services.
• Experience building APIs and micro-services using REST or gRPC with security and observability.
• Practical experience delivering LLM-based features and agentic workflows.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and Git workflows.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and multi-cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with enterprise AI-assisted development tools and code quality validation.
• Experience with container orchestration and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver software through full SDLC from requirements to production support.
• Write maintainable Python/Java/JS code with tests and debugging.
• Implement LLM-driven workflows and multi-step agentic tasks.
• Build and maintain inference-time integrations, including APIs, caching, and timeouts.
• Develop REST and gRPC endpoints with authentication and input validation.
• Implement SQL-backed business logic powering APIs and micro-services.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Terraform-based infrastructure.
• Improve operability with observability tooling and incident response.
• Leverage AI tooling for software development with peer review and testing.
