Job summary

Safran Actuation Systems UK in Wolverhampton is seeking a Principal Design Engineer to provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of aerospace products in service. You will lead complex design packages, ensure airworthiness, and drive through-life support with a focus on aftermarket design engineering.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant engineering experience in aerospace aftermarket, product support, in-service or sustaining engineering.
• Proven CAD modelling and engineering drawing production experience.
• Strong configuration management, BOM management and PLM process understanding.
• Experience handling ECRs, concessions, design deviations and non-conformances.
• Experience leading technical investigations and design reviews.
• Good stakeholder management and customer-facing skills.
• Experience leading technical work packages and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of design solutions for aftermarket and in-service activities.
• Produce and approve detailed 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Manage product configuration across lifecycle and maintain BOMs.
• Review, author and approve engineering documentation with delegated authority.
• Lead engineering work packages from initiation to delivery.
