Job summary

Safran Electronics & Defense in Wolverhampton is seeking an IPT Lead to manage and deliver engineering and in-service programs within Global Defence Systems. You will act as the single point of contact with customers, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, on-cost delivery that meets requirements.

The role requires a degree, Chartered Engineer status or equivalent experience, and a strong track record in electro-mechanical actuation systems.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Degree-Level, Chartered Engineer, or possess relevant experience in the product line or a similar field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Demonstrates broad technical and intellectual capability, with the ability to interface with a wide range of professionals across disciplines.
• Highly motivated, capable of driving results through direct leadership and effective resource utilization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project plans to ensure engineering deliverables are defined and tracked.
• Monitor projects to ensure adherence to schedule, cost, and engineering deliverables, especially technical issues.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to align scope, schedule and milestones.
• Establish and maintain engineering project forecasts for resource allocation and expenditure.
• Review and manage technical risks, costs and mitigation plans with regular reviews.
• Coordinate the Project Team through regular start-up meetings.
• Facilitate communication from Senior Management to engineering staff and vice versa.
• Lead a team of engineers and technicians, maximizing performance.
• Mentor staff development through coaching and guidance.
• Ensure adherence to engineering processes and best practices.
• Engineer products to specification, ensuring compliance with requirements.
• Monitor and control product costs to meet targets.
• Address issues related to in-service use and implement timely corrective actions.
• Manage FRACA issues raised within the team.
