Job summary

Safran Actuation Systems UK is seeking a Project Manager for Aftermarket platforms in Wolverhampton. Hybrid working and a focus on delivering cost, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction are key.

You will lead governance, performance monitoring and resource planning across the project lifecycle, engaging internal stakeholders and customers with strong communication and reporting discipline.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in an Aftermarket Project Management role, ideally in aerospace/defence/high-value manufacturing.
  • Formal project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, APMP).
  • Experience acting as main customer contact through the project lifecycle.
  • Experience managing performance across cost, schedule, quality and risk.
  • Structured and methodical planning, governance and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of Military Aftermarket projects with cost, schedule, quality and performance targets.
  • Act as primary customer contact, maintain strong relationships and monitor satisfaction.
  • Develop, maintain and control project schedules, baselines, milestones and data.
  • Use PM tools to plan, track and report progress.
  • Gather and communicate KPIs to support informed decisions.
  • Lead governance activities including risk reviews and change control boards.
  • Produce and support project reporting, documentation, and governance deliverables.
  • Maintain resource plans and staffing alignment with programme demands.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS and company PM processes.

Your Role

Project Manager responsible for leading a portfolio of Aftermarket platforms, ensuring successful delivery against cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives. Working closely with internal stakeholders and customers, the role drives project governance, performance monitoring, resource planning, and programme execution throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of Military Aftermarket projects, ensuring delivery to agreed cost, schedule, quality, and performance targets.
  • Act as the primary customer contact at working level, maintaining strong relationships and monitoring customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, maintain, and control project schedules, baselines, milestones, and performance data.
  • Utilise project management tools and techniques to plan, track, and report project progress and outcomes.
  • Gather, analyse, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to support informed decision‑making.
  • Lead and administer project governance activities, including risk reviews, change control boards, and programme reviews.
  • Produce and support internal and external project reporting, documentation, and governance deliverables.
  • Maintain resource plans and ensure project staffing requirements align with programme demands.
  • Ensure compliance with company project management processes and the Collins Management System (CMS).
What You'll Bring
Essential
  • 3+ years in an Aftermarket Project Management role, ideally within an aerospace, defence, or high-value manufacturing environment
  • Formal project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, APMP)
  • Experience acting as main customer point of contact through the Project lifecycle
  • Experience managing project performance across cost, schedule, quality, and risk
  • Structured and methodical approach to planning, governance, and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience with actuation systems, electromechanical or hydraulic equipment
