Job description

Shift Details: Standard shift with support for major incidents (priority) during out-of-office hours as needed. Candidates should be located near Warwick.

No of Days: Work from office, at least 2 days initially for the first few months.

Demand Validation

Knowledge and Qualifications Required:

• This role suits a candidate with operational experience in IP/MPLS/Ethernet/SDH networks, preferably in a utilities environment.
• Ability to manage resources required for top-tier network & telemetry operations.
• Ensure outsourced services and partners meet high standards.
• Experience managing outsourced services in an ITIL environment, setting direction, control, and standards, ideally in operational network environments.
• Strong knowledge of network, telemetry, and SCADA infrastructure technologies and systems.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and fault diagnosis.
• Understanding and interpretation of security and external regulations affecting operational networks.
• Experience managing critical major incidents outside regular hours, participating in an out-of-hours rota.
• Candidate must be able to obtain SC security vetting clearance. Educated to degree level in computing or relevant engineering discipline.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ITIL Practitioner, CCNA/DA, CCNP, Security) are desirable.

Key Tasks

• Serve as the primary contact for business service liaison, including projects and service transition.
• Manage resources, including third-party service providers, for operational management of CNI SCADA and networks, ensuring resilience, safety, and security.
• Collaborate with IS, business, and third-party stakeholders to ensure network changes do not compromise safe operation.
• Coordinate with Audit, Security, and government organizations to ensure compliance with policies and standards for critical CNI networks.
• Participate in incident management to restore resilience quickly.
• Lead root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of issues.
• Manage annual budget and monitor actuals against plans.
• Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
