Job summary

Crystal Care Collection Limited invites applications for a Laundry Assistant based at Poppymill Brook, Brockworth, opening January 2027. You will join a small domestic team, maintaining high cleaning standards across the home and supporting infection control practices.

Key responsibilities include following schedules, using PPE correctly, reporting defects, and delivering hospitality in a caring environment for residents. The role offers induction training, DBS check, and uniform provision.

Qualifications

• Basic Education including Maths and English.
• Previous cleaning experience.
• Understand and adhere to infection control, health and safety/COSHH guidelines.
• Proven communication skills both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to organise priorities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties to the required company standards.
• Cleaning duties can be in any area of the care home.
• Ensure that daily and deep cleaning schedules are adhered to.
• Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
• Ensure that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe and clean condition.
• Report any defect to the Home Manager.
• Carry out any other reasonable instructions of the Home Manager.
• To be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents and agree a convenient time to carry out cleaning of their personal rooms.
• To comply with COSHH regulations.
• To adhere to infection control policies at all times.
• To ensure the correct use of PPE.
• To follow the correct use of colour code systems within the home.
• To ensure all necessary documentation is completed daily.
• To ensure trolleys are re-stocked at the end of shift and cleaning cupboards are left clean and tidy.

As a Laundry Assistant, you will play an integral role within the care home, working as part of a small domestic team. Your role is key to ensuring the home is cleaned and maintained to a very high standard, in line with the cleaning schedules, so our residents live in an exceptional environment. To provide a high standard of hospitality, cleaning and laundry within the home for our resident, visitors and colleagues.

The post holder must maintain standards as required in adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with infection control procedures.

Hours of work: (08:00-17:00) and you will be expected to work on a permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on, followed by three consecutive shifts off, which equates to an average of 31.5 hours per week in total.

Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.53
