Job summary

The Lensbury in Teddington seeks a friendly Laundry Assistant to join a dedicated housekeeping team. You will operate washing and drying machines, manage linen, and help with general laundry and housekeeping duties.

Ideal candidates have experience with laundry and presses, understand health and safety when handling chemicals, and are reliable team players with good timekeeping. Full training and career development are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of laundry
• Manual handling is a key requirement
• Previous experience with laundry presses is advantageous
• Good Health & Safety knowledge in chemical use
• Reliable and good timekeeper with excellent teamwork

• Operate the washing and drying machines
• Organise linen including storage, folding and ironing
• General cleaning duties in the laundry, washing floors and tidying
• Assist with general housekeeping duties throughout the Housekeeping department
• Health & Safety awareness related to chemical use (training provided)

Laundry Assistant

Part of Iconic Hotels and Resorts, The Lensbury is located on the Banks of the River Thames at Teddington and is home to an exclusive leisure club, a 156 bedroom hotel, meeting and events space, restaurant and bar, Spa and 25 acres of gardens and grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating the washing and drying machines
• Organisation of linen including storage, folding and ironing as necessary.
• General cleaning duties in the laundry, washing floors and general tidying.
• Assist with general housekeeping duties throughout the Housekeeping department
• Good Health & Safety awareness, training will be given in chemical requirements.

What we are looking for?

• Manual handling is a key requirement of the role.
• Must have working knowledge of laundry
• Previous experience of working with laundry presses is an advantage.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge in chemical use and general risk awareness
• Reliable and good timekeeper with excellent teamwork
