Job summary

Ashgrove Care Home is seeking a Laundry Assistant to ensure residents' clothing and linen are cared for to a high standard, supporting comfort and daily wellbeing.

This hands-on role requires attention to detail, strong organisation, and a collaborative approach within a supportive team. PVG clearance, pension, and uniform are provided as part of a full, duties-based contract in the UK.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach to work with residents.
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills with colleagues and residents.
• Knowledge of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous care or laundry experience welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry, iron and return items correctly with clear labelling.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the laundry.
• Follow infection control and health and safety procedures.
• Ensure a safe, efficient and reliable laundry service for residents.

Laundry Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pad breaks, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

Our purpose-built care home offers exemplary standards of Residential and Nursing care for 65-residents.

As Laundry Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring residents’ clothing and linen are cared for to a high standard, supporting comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing. This is a hands on role where attention to detail and organisation are essential.

You will be responsible for washing, drying, ironing and returning items correctly, ensuring all clothing is clearly labelled and handled with care. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the laundry area, you will ensure all processes are carried out safely and efficiently.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and laundry procedures, ensuring a consistent and reliable service that contributes to a well organised and comfortable environment.
