Job summary

Boclair Care Home is looking for a dedicated Laundry Assistant to maintain residents' clothing and linen to a high standard. This part-time role focuses on washing, drying, ironing and returning items with clear labelling and careful handling, while upholding infection control and safety standards.

You will be part of a supportive team in which attention to detail and organisation are essential to ensure a comfortable environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach with good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous laundry experience welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry, iron and return items, ensuring correct labelling.
• Ensure all items are handled with care and stored neatly.
• Maintain high cleanliness and organisation in the laundry area.
• Follow infection control and health and safety procedures.

Laundry Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 20 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Laundry Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring residents' clothing and linen are cared for to a high standard, supporting comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing. This is a hands on role where attention to detail and organisation are essential.

You will be responsible for washing, drying, ironing and returning items correctly, ensuring all clothing is clearly labelled and handled with care. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the laundry area, you will ensure all processes are carried out safely and efficiently.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and laundry procedures, ensuring a consistent and reliable service that contributes to a well organised and comfortable environment.
