Job summary

Etive House Care Home is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for residents in a care setting. The role includes cleaning rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, plus assisting with laundry duties such as washing, drying and ironing, with clear labeling and careful handling.

You will work with the team to follow infection control and safety procedures, contributing to a well-organised environment that supports residents' comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

Job description

Located in the beautiful village of Benderloch by Oban, we offer small group living accommodation for up to 62-residents.

Housekeeping / Laundry Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 32 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
