Job summary

CARE CONCERN GROUP LIMITED is recruiting a Housekeeping Assistant for Willinbrook Healthcare's Vane Hill Care Home in Torquay. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment and support laundry services for residents with complex needs.

Daily tasks include cleaning rooms and communal areas, assisting with laundry, and ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care, while following infection control and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Positive and reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous care/home experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard.

• Label and handle clothing with care and maintain hygiene procedures.

Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to either 24 or 30 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs by maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised, hygienic and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
