Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Cloud Performance Engineer to design and optimise high-performance cloud infrastructure supporting latency-sensitive workloads. You will collaborate across cloud, networking, Linux and automation teams to improve performance and reliability.

You'll design and optimise AWS and hybrid cloud environments, build latency monitoring, automate infrastructure, and develop tooling to analyse performance metrics across cloud and network layers.

Qualifications

• Strong AWS experience, especially EC2, VPC and Direct Connect.
• Solid networking background: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• Experience with Cisco networking.
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong Linux skills and understanding of the Linux network stack.
• Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimise AWS and hybrid cloud environments.
• Work across cloud networking, routing and switching.
• Build and maintain performance and latency monitoring.
• Automate cloud infrastructure and network configurations.
