Job summary

Quant Capital, London-based, is recruiting a Cloud Performance Engineer to optimise latency-critical trading infrastructure in a hybrid AWS environment. You will design and tune cloud/network layers, build tooling to monitor latency, and develop Python services to collect and analyze performance metrics.

This hands-on role combines networking, cloud engineering and software development to reduce bottlenecks under load.

Qualifications

• Strong AWS engineering experience, especially networking and hybrid connectivity.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching and Linux network stack.
• Solid Python development skills for automation and tooling.
• Terraform and infrastructure-as-code across cloud and networking.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance analysis skills.
• Security-conscious engineering approach; familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimise AWS and hybrid-cloud infrastructure for performance-critical workloads (EC2, VPC, Direct Connect).
• Develop monitoring systems to measure network latency and analyze behaviour across distributed workloads.
• Build Python-based backend services and tooling to collect, process and query performance metrics.
• Automate cloud provisioning, network configurations and server-side processes using Terraform, Python and Bash.
• Collaborate with Linux, network and software engineers to investigate and resolve bottlenecks.
