Job summary

Spirax-Sarco Ltd. in Cheltenham is seeking a skilled Welder to join the late shift. You will perform TIG, MIG and MMA welding on carbon and stainless steel pipework and pressure vessels, reading drawings and weld procedures to ensure high-quality, safe fabrication.

The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and flexibility to support daily production plans and continuous improvement initiatives. A manufacturing background and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience welding using MIG, TIG and MMA processes on carbon and stainless steel.
• Experience of plasma cutting and general fabrication activities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible, proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Carry out TIG, MIG and MMA welding on carbon and stainless steel pipework and pressure vessels.
• Work from engineering drawings, weld procedures and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain high welding and fabrication quality standards at all times.
• Complete marking out, plasma cutting, oxy-acetylene cutting, grinding and drilling activities as required.
• Follow daily production plans and achieve agreed productivity targets.
• Operate workshop equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
• Use overhead cranes to move materials and completed fabrications.
• Comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support operational excellence.
• Work collaboratively across production and support teams to meet customer demand.
