Job summary

The Recruitment Group in Charnwood, near Loughborough, is seeking a Laser Machine Operator and Setter. You will set up and run CO2 laser systems, program with CorelDraw and AutoCAD, and interpret drawings to produce high-quality parts.

Training is provided, with a 40-hour week and overtime. Basic salary ranges from £26,437 to £28,080 depending on experience, with negotiable terms for the right candidate.

Job description

The Recruitment Group Loughborough have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking Laser Machine operator and Setter at our site in Charnwood. This is a fast-paced working environment working within a well-established global company. Experience with laser machines is desirable, but training will be provided.

The Hours:

• 40 Hours per week Monday to Friday - with Overtime during peak - Overtime rates apply after 40 hours
• £26,437 to £28,080 Basic - Negotiable depending on relevant experience

The Role:

• Set up and operate CO2 Laser machines to produce high-quality products while following safety rules.
• Use CorelDraw to program the machines and make changes to drawings in AutoCAD.
• Read technical drawings and find the best ways to complete tasks safely.
• Work mostly with printed plastic sheets and sometimes jig moldings according to designs.
• Ensure high-quality work and check everything against drawings.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on machines.

The Requirements:

• Experience in operating CO2 Laser machines and knowledge of CorelDraw or similar software desirable
• Strong attention to detail to identify and fix problems.
• Computer skills and physical ability to handle materials.
• Willingness to learn and share knowledge.
• Positive attitude and reliable timekeeping.
