Job summary

People Solutions in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, is recruiting for a Laser Operator to join a well-established client.

The role involves operating CNC water jet, flame cutting and press brake, reading drawings, and ensuring high-quality components are produced to spec.

Shifts are Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00, pay rate £13.20 per hour, with weekly pay and the potential to go permanent; site canteen available.

Qualifications

• Experience operating laser cutting machines.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Prioritise work and meet tight deadlines.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Experience with stainless steel and aluminium is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC water jet, flame cutting and press brake machines.
• Manufacture components to a high standard.
• Use measuring equipment (Vernier, callipers, micrometres).
• Maintain machinery and order materials as needed.
• Perform quality checks and ensure production timely delivery.

Laser Operator

People Solutions are currently recruiting for Laser Operators to join our well-established client based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as an Assembly Operative, Factory Operative or Warehouse Operative.

Shifts: Monday-Friday: 08:00 - 17:00

Pay rate: 13.20 per hour

Day to Day duties

• Operating and running the CNC water jet, flame cutting and press brake machine
• Manufacturing components to a high standard
• Using engineering measuring equipment such as Vernier's, callipers, or Micrometres
• Maintaining machinery by cleaning it and making sure it is in working order and checking and ordering materials needed
• Working with multiple types of metal, including stainless steel and aluminium
• Removing and cleaning of finished parts ready for Production
• Daily TMP checks and general maintenance of Laser machines, replacing specific parts, nozzles, lenses etc
• Completing your own quality control checks
• Keeping to tight deadlines and targets

Essential Skills

• CAD experience and the ability to read and produce drawings
• Machine operating experience
• Previous experience of operating laser cutting machines, setting would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills
• Has the ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to plan and work from own initiative, with minimum supervision
• Must be a self-motivated individual

Training:

• Industry related training provided and ongoing support throughout
