Job description

Job Description: Landscape Architect at Arcadis

Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.

We are more than 36,000 people in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact.

Our Landscape, Masterplanning, Urbanism (LMU) team is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our growing team of over 70 professionals offering comprehensive Landscape Architecture, Masterplanning, and Urban Design services. Our projects range from masterplanning and urban regeneration to strategic planning, design concepts, detailed design, implementation, Environmental Assessments, and LVIA.

As part of our Environmental team, you'll contribute to improving quality of life through your expertise in environmental management, technical skills, or sustainability. Your work may involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise, often in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.

We aim to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. Given the impacts of climate change, urbanization, and biodiversity loss, our projects address these challenges through large-scale infrastructure, masterplanning, and urban design initiatives across the UK.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including in-house disciplines, high-profile designers, and external partners, working on some of the UK’s most complex projects, such as:

  • Perry Barr Regeneration Development
  • Glasgow Neighbourhoods
  • Westerhill Masterplan
  • Future High Street Fund projects and Town Investment Funds
  • Northstowe Masterplan / Urban extension
  • Rochdale Canal and other projects (Canal and River Trust)
  • High Speed Rail 2
  • Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) like Lower Thames Crossing

We also undertake smaller projects, providing a diverse portfolio of clients at national and local levels, across private and public sectors.

You will be challenged by projects requiring innovative ideas and solutions, fostering collaboration among talented colleagues passionate about sustainability and tackling global challenges.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience as a Landscape Architect on small to large-scale masterplans, city centre regeneration, green infrastructure, and infrastructure projects
  • Experience with landscape planning and assessment projects
  • Preparation for P2C with the Landscape Institute
  • Strong hand-drawing and graphic skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Desired: Revit, SketchUp, 3D modeling tools
  • Valid driving license
  • Degree/Diploma in Landscape Architecture or a related field
