We are looking for someone with experience in successful environment design and rollout projects. We need this person to be a good all-rounder with a flair for creative concept generation supported by solid design development and 3D modelling skills.

The Yard Creative is looking for a 3D/Interior Designer to join our growing team and help drive the business forward. We are a boutique design agency that ‘only works with people who want to challenge a sector’. Our ability to see the world differently from others and identify opportunities for our clients inspires us.

This person will be inspired by new trends, materials and technologies whilst actively seeking out what’s next in the industry, such as visiting exhibitions or lectures. This person will have experience in creating best practice design for retail, hospitality and F&B, and must also understand the notion of experiential design and strive to craft excellent customer experiences.

At TYC, we follow the full design process, which requires a broad skill set for each stage of the project life cycle, from research and immersion to concept design, technical design, and rollout.

This role will require client-facing skills, meaning that the candidate needs to engage with clients proactively. While there will be regular client meetings and site visits, the day-to-day work will be conducted in our office in London. The candidate will be required to document meetings, produce presentations, and create all project deliverables to an exceptionally high standard.

Working as part of the 3D/Interiors team, this person will be expected to take instruction, guidance, and art direction from the Directors and other senior members of the team.

Specific skills we are looking for:
  1. Excellent idea and concept generation along with a confident ability to communicate ideas, concepts and rationale
  2. Excellent 3D environment sketching and creation of visual design concepts, finalising through design development
  3. Up-to-date knowledge of trends, technology, materials, finishes, manufacturing methods etc.
  4. Excellent experience with architectural modelling software packages: Vectorworks (Architect, Renderworks) and Cinema 4D
  5. Excellent finishing and retouching skills using Adobe Creative Suite
  6. Excellent technical design knowledge and skills to deliver design intent detail drawing packs
  7. Good experience of storyboarding, writing, and creation of presentations using Adobe Creative Suite
  8. Good experience using Microsoft Office
  9. Good communication skills including client liaison, team communications, and supplier management
  10. Ability to produce all project deliverables to an exceptionally high standard

Qualifications required:

• 2:1 or higher Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or similar
