Job summary

National Grid Electricity Transmission seeks a Land Sustainability Officer to join the Operational Readiness Team in Warwick. You will oversee the EPA portfolio, engage with partners, and drive environmental projects across domains including biodiversity, education centres and restoration commitments.

Qualifications

• Suitable qualification or equivalent experience within an environmental, sustainability, ecology, geography, planning, land management or related discipline.
• Broad environmental and sustainability knowledge, including awareness of biodiversity, natural capital, environmental value, habitat creation, environmental education and wider sustainability initiatives.
• Strong project and programme management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, actions and reporting requirements simultaneously and progress work independently once priorities are agreed.
• Stakeholder engagement experience and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including environmental partners, consultants and suppliers.
• Strong organisational skills with experience managing governance processes, trackers, reports and programme documentation.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment whilst maintaining a high level of organisation and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate EPA portfolio and Environmental Value activities.
• Organise and manage quarterly EPA partner review meetings with agendas, minutes and action tracking.
• Support Environmental Education Centre relationships and reporting, ensuring timelines are met.
• Maintain programme trackers, action logs, governance records and reporting dashboards.
• Coordinate ecology surveys and monitoring activities for EPA and EEC sites.
• Support Environmental Value reporting, performance monitoring and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate annual EPA conference and wider partner engagement activities.
