Job summary

National Grid is recruiting a Surveyor to lead land rights efforts for England and Wales infrastructure projects. You will negotiate agreements with landowners, advise on DCO/CPO matters and influence decision-making across teams.

The role offers flexible hybrid working with access to the Warwick Head Office, supporting field-based activity and collaboration within a national Lands team.

Qualifications

• Experience securing land rights and negotiating agreements.
• Knowledge of DCO, CPO and statutory processes for major projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and professional judgement.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in complex environments.
• Track record of building trusted relationships and influencing decisions.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on securing land rights for major infrastructure projects.
• Negotiate high-value agreements with landowners and stakeholders.
• Advise on DCO, CPO and compensation matters to influence decisions.
• Build relationships with landowners, communities and project teams.
• Coordinate with external land agents and consultants for project progress.
• Support development of junior surveyors within the national team.
