Job description

We are a leading engineering surveyor seeking to appoint a Land Surveyor Technician to join our experienced land and measured building surveying team at our Coventry office.

As a Land Surveyor Technician, you will complete small to medium-scale land surveys to a high standard and be capable of managing survey projects independently. The ideal candidate will have practical experience and technical knowledge of topographical surveying, including processing survey and CAD data.

You will have the opportunity to develop your career with Survey Solutions through training in measured building surveying, laser scanning, complex topographical surveys, and setting out.

We are also open to candidates capable of handling large-scale topographical and measured building surveys.

Responsibilities:

As a Survey Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Completing small to medium-scale topographical surveys independently and to a high standard.
  2. Collaborating with and taking instructions from the lead surveyor on larger, complex projects.
  3. Processing survey and CAD data accurately.
  4. Demonstrating proficiency in traversing and GPS control networks.
  5. Setting up surveying instruments, recording data, and supporting team members logistically.
  6. Mentoring and assisting trainee and junior surveyors with practical onsite experience.
  7. Conducting initial site inspections, dynamic risk assessments, and ensuring safety measures are in place.
  8. Undertaking training in measured building surveying, laser scanning, and site engineering.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1-3+ years of experience in the surveying industry.
  • Experience in independently completing small to medium-scale topographical surveys.
  • Proficiency in processing survey and CAD data.
  • Knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks.
  • Technical and practical experience with surveying equipment and software.
  • A passion for developing skills across surveying disciplines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • At least 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Ability to commute to Coventry.
  • Full UK driving license and right to work in the UK.

We are a leading surveyor specialising in land, building, utility, monitoring, and engineering surveys, with ten UK offices supporting major projects.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:30, with site hours varying, including potential overtime and weekends.
