This is an exciting opportunity for you to be responsible for the expansion and management of our portfolio in East Sussex and Kent. You will be involved in the full asset lifecycle from initial site identification, negotiation, and acquisition of land/sites. You will lead a professional team through the planning process, obtaining satisfactory consents, supporting construction, and ongoing asset management. Developing relationships with landlords, tenants, local authorities, agents, and developers is essential.

The role involves ownership of the full development and planning processes from concept to completion, requiring excellent communication and negotiation skills, multi-tasking, and meeting tight deadlines. Please note, you will be expected to work in our Gravesend (Northfleet) Property Office or in your designated area at least 3 days per week.

Role Title: Senior Acquisitions Consultant (internally)

Responsibilities:
  • Identifying, negotiating, and acquiring freehold and leasehold deals to build new stores.
  • Undertaking site inspections, development appraisals, and managing due diligence.
  • Managing planning applications from submission to discharge of conditions.
  • Leading expansion, relocation, and infrastructure projects.
  • Developing relationships with local authorities, agents, landlords, tenants, and developers.
  • Managing the full development and planning process from concept to completion.
  • Real estate management of freehold and leasehold assets.
Requirements:
  • Self-motivated with a drive to succeed.
  • Degree-level education (minimum 2:2), ideally in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in retail acquisitions, land buying, commercial property, or town planning.
  • MRICS qualification is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a well-established network.
  • Sound legal and commercial property knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel within the UK.
