Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group Limited in Scunthorpe is seeking a Lairage Operative to clean and sanitise empty trailers after live poultry deliveries. The role includes operating high-pressure washers, maintaining hygiene, and following safety protocols.

It is a full-time, permanent position with shift patterns across AM/PM and a competitive hourly rate. The successful candidate will have English proficiency for COSHH, and experience in a fast-paced team environment with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with high-pressure washers is desirable.

• Ability to follow and understand tasks required to perform the role.
• Speaking, reading and writing English to pass COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all wagons/trailers are empty and free of live birds before cleaning.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitise the empty trailers using high-pressure wash systems.
• Check the cleaned trailer is free from contamination.
• Keep the working area clean during and after production.
• Report anomalies with wagons or equipment to management.
• Dispose of waste and debris correctly.

2 Sisters Food Group in Scunthorpe has vacancies for Lairage Operative's, on a full time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity top join a stable employer in a much sought after position.

Lairage Operative's are required to clean and sanitise all empty trailers, following the delivery of live poultry to site.

Job Description

Ensure all wagons/trailers are empty and free of modules of live birds before commencing cleaning.

• Thoroughly clean and sanitise the empty trailers using the high-pressure washing systems as displayed on the Cleaning Instruction Cards in each of the bays.
• Check the cleaned trailer is free from any form of contamination.
• Keep the working area clean throughout the day and after production ends.
• Report any anomalies with the wagons or equipment to management.
• Dispose of waste and debris correctly.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

• Experience with high pressure washers (desirable)
• Good observational skills
• The ability to work at an efficient pace

• Food safety Level 2 (desirable)
• A good understanding of your own responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Additional Information

Lairage Operative's work on a

AM Shift

• Monday: 02:30 – 13:30
• Tuesday-Friday: 05:00-13:30
• Saturday: 05:00-11:00

PM Shift

• Monday-Friday 13:25-21:55

The rate of pay is

£14.50 per hour, with supplements for unsociable hours on a Monday day shift, plus enhanced pay for Saturdays.
