Job summary

18 Recruitment Limited is seeking a hardworking Labourer to join a social housing maintenance team in Liverpool. The role involves strip-out and light demolition in void properties, supporting trades teams to prepare homes for refurbishment and reoccupation.

You will travel between properties across Liverpool and surrounding areas, carry out waste removal, load and unload materials, and ensure all work adheres to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as Labourer, Demolition Operative, or General Operative in construction or social housing.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out strip-out works in void properties (kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, fittings).
• Undertake light demolition as required.
• Remove waste and debris; keep sites clean and safe.
• Assist tradespeople with refurbishment and maintenance tasks.
• Load/unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure work complies with health and safety regulations.
• Report defects or hazards to supervisors.

About the Role

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a hardworking and reliable Labourer to join a growing social housing maintenance team in Liverpool. This is a permanent opportunity working on void properties, helping to prepare homes for refurbishment and reoccupation.

The successful candidate will support trades teams and carry out strip-out and demolition works across a portfolio of social housing properties, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out strip-out works within void properties, including kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and fixtures.


• Undertake light demolition works as required.


• Remove waste and debris from properties, ensuring sites are kept clean and safe.


• Assist skilled tradespeople with refurbishment and maintenance activities.


• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.


• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations.


• Report any property defects, hazards, or issues to supervisors.


• Travel between properties across Liverpool and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Labourer, Demolition Operative, or General Operative within construction, maintenance, or social housing.


• Experience carrying out strip-out and demolition works.


• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance record.


• Full UK Driving Licence with a clean driving record (essential).


• CSCS Card desirable but not essential.
