Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a Labourer/Driver for our depot in the North East. You will keep the depot tidy and ensure equipment leaving the depot is checked and maintained to high standards.

You will deliver and collect Pump & Power Equipment for GAP Group customers, prioritising safety, punctuality and excellent customer service. A valid driving licence is essential, forklift licence is a plus, and the role offers a supportive team and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hire depot or yard environment is preferred.
• The forklift licence is highly beneficial for handling equipment.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety protocols and ability to follow them.
• Excellent customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
• Must hold a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Keep depot areas clean and tidy on a day-to-day basis.
• Ensure equipment leaving the depot is checked and maintained to high standards.
• Facilitate timeous delivery and collection of GAP equipment to customers.
• Drive safely and legally at all times, following all road laws.
• Provide courteous service and support to GAP Group customers.

GAP Pump & Power Services Division provide advice, servicing, maintenance and repair for generators, dewatering & sewerage pump applications including a large range of hoses, settlement tanks and water processing solutions.

Working in the heart of the depot the Labourer/Driver will be responsible for keeping all areas clean and tidy day in day out, and ensuring that any equipment leaving the depot has been checked and maintained to the highest standards. You will also ensure timeous professional delivery and collection of Pump & Power Equipment to and from GAP Group customers.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in a similar environment, driving responsibly and safely within the law at all times.

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

• Previous experience working within a similar role, preferably within a hire depot or yard environment
• Forklift Licence would be highly beneficial
• An understanding of Health & Safety protocols and the ability to follow these guidelines in the workplace
• Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail
• Full driving licence is essential
