Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a proactive Labourer/Driver to support our Plant & Tools Division and ensure depot operations run smoothly. You will keep the workshop and yard clean, prepare equipment for hire and assist the team in delivering exceptional service across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

You will load, deliver and collect hire equipment, perform checks, refuel as needed and maintain fuel logs.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driving licence and CSCS card or forklift licence are advantageous.
• Strong teamwork and the ability to work independently in a busy depot environment.
• Commitment to safety standards and attention to detail in workshop and yard work.

Responsibilities

• Keep the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
• Clean and store equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Quality-check equipment before hire and update fuel logs.
• Refuel plant and machinery and maintain fuel records.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.
• Load, deliver and collect hire equipment safely and on time with required checks.

We're looking for a proactive and hardworking Labourer to join our high-performing Plant & Tools Division. As a Labourer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our depot runs smoothly and safely. You'll maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop and yard, prepare plant equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Refuelling plant and machinery, accurately updating fuel logs
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Loading, delivering and collecting hire equipment to and from customer sites in a safe, timely and professional manner, ensuring all relevant checks and associated administration are completed accurately

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• Driving license required and a CSCS card and/or forklift licence are advantageous
