GAP Group is hiring a Labourer for its Plant & Tool Division. You will help keep the depot clean and safe, prepare equipment for hire, and support the team in delivering excellent service across construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors.

The role offers real career progression in a family-run business with over 50 years’ experience, investing in equipment, training and employee wellbeing. Driving duties and licences are a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues.
• High attention to safety standards and details.

Responsabilités

• Keep workshop and yard clean, tidy and hazard-free.
• Clean plant equipment and store in an orderly fashion.
• Refuel plant and update fuel logs accurately.
• Quality-check equipment before hire.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.
• Carry out driving duties (if licensed) and assist with loading/unloading.
• Operate forklift when necessary.

We're looking for a proactive and hardworking Labourer to join our high-performing Plant & Tool Division. As a Labourer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our depot runs smoothly and safely. You'll maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop and yard, prepare plant equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

This is a hands-on role offering real career progression in a company that invests in its people.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning plant equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Refuelling plant and machinery, accurately updating fuel logs
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Carrying out driving duties (subject to licence) and assisting Drivers and customers with loading and unloading vehicles
• Operating forklift when necessary

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• CSCS card, forklift licence, and driving licence are advantageous
