Job summary

GAP Group in Bridgwater is seeking a hands-on Labourer to join our Plant & Tool Division. You will help keep the depot tidy and safe, prep plant for hire, and support the team in delivering great service to construction and infrastructure projects.

The role offers real career progression in a family-run, independent business with over 50 years of experience. CSCS card and forklift licence are advantageous for success.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment.
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• CSCS card, forklift licence, and driving licence are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning plant equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Refuelling plant and machinery, accurately updating fuel logs
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Carrying out driving duties (subject to licence) and assisting Drivers and customers with loading and unloading vehicles
• Operating forklift when necessary
