Job summary

Gap Group Limited is seeking a proactive Labourer to support our Plant & Tools Division. You will maintain a clean, safe workshop and yard, prepare plant equipment for hire, and assist the team to deliver excellent service across construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

• Keep workshop and yard clean and hazard-free.
• Clean plant equipment and store neatly.
• Refuel plant and update fuel logs accurately.
• Quality-check equipment before dispatch for hire-readiness.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.
• Load, deliver and collect hire equipment safely and on time.

We're looking for a proactive and hardworking Labourer to join our high-performing Plant & Tool Division. As a Labourer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our depot runs smoothly and safely. You'll maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop and yard, prepare plant equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

This is a hands-on role offering real career progression in a company that invests in its people.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning plant equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Refuelling plant and machinery, accurately updating fuel logs
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Loading, delivering and collecting hire equipment to and from customer sites in a safe, timely and professional manner, ensuring all relevant checks and associated administration are completed accurately

About You

• Previous experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• Driving license required and a CSCS card and/or forklift licence are advantageous
