Job summary

GAP Group in Ashford is seeking a proactive Labourer to join our Plant & Tool Division. In this hands-on role you will keep the workshop and yard tidy, fuel and service plant, and help load and deliver hire equipment to customer sites, ensuring safety and accuracy.

You'll need a driving licence and preferably CSCS card or forklift licence; strong team spirit and attention to detail are essential as you support the depot to run smoothly and meet customer demand.

Qualifications

• Experience in a labourer role, ideally within a hire depot or yard environment.
• Strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative in a busy environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
• Cleaning plant equipment and storing it in an orderly fashion.
• Refuelling plant and machinery, updating fuel logs.
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready.
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required.
• Loading, delivering and collecting hire equipment to and from customer sites in a safe, timely and professional manner.

We're looking for a proactive and hardworking Labourer to join our high-performing Plant & Tool Division. As a Labourer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our depot runs smoothly and safely. You'll maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop and yard, prepare plant equipment for hire, and support the wider team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across construction, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Keeping the workshop and yard clean, tidy, and hazard-free
• Cleaning plant equipment and store it in an orderly fashion
• Refuelling plant and machinery, accurately updating fuel logs
• Quality-checking equipment before it leaves the depot to ensure it's hire-ready
• Assisting with general workshop duties as required
• Loading, delivering and collecting hire equipment to and from customer sites in a safe, timely and professional manner, ensuring all relevant checks and associated administration are completed accurately

What You'll Bring
